Hear ye, hear ye! The year is 1374. The townsfolk of Salford arise in a trance-like state, and begin a frenzied dance. On top of that, the aliens have decided to invade.

We’re excited to announce that this year’s Art Director is the brilliant Sam Selley!

Giant head maker, animator, printmaker, fabric assembler, paper cutter-outer and workshop facilitator.

Their work often explores folklore, the obscure, identity and the natural environment, as well as bringing multiple objects and beings together that wouldn’t usually be seen in the same space. They are frequently experimenting with new materials and techniques, whilst finding ways to repurpose unwanted items and incorporating natural materials. Their practice is rooted in being socially engaged and aims to involve communities wherever possible whilst increasingly responding to the ever changing state of the world and exploring ways we can find commonality, and use art as resistance.
