Manchester icon Kath McDermott is bringing a load of her mates to spin from the Islington Mill Courtyard Balcony! Although she needs no introduction…
Kath was a resident for 5 years at Manchester’s queer extravaganza Flesh at The Haçienda, was one of the founding DJs behind Homo Electric and is one of the promoters of annual fundraiser event Suffragette City.
Kath has also moved crowds at Manchester International Festival, Ministry of Sound & Homobloc and warmed up for the likes of Confidence Man, Doves and Danny Krivit. But she remains devoted to the tightly knit crews of the underground, the kind she finds at Red Laser at The White Hotel, The Social Service, Kiss Me Again and Bollox.
With a CV like this it’s not surprising that Bill Brewster interviewed Kath for the latest edition of ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life’, a book tracing the global evolution of the DJ and the pioneers that shaped the sounds at every stage.
