Something’s been disturbed… Digging for Kanky takes its name from Old Kanky, a North Manchester grave robber said to lurk around the city’s edges, digging where he shouldn’t. The project treats his grim figure less like folklore and more like a presence, slipping between scenes, leaving his mark across rumbling trip-hop production and hard-edged rap vocals. It’s dark, heavy, and uncomfortable in the best way, like standing too close to a story you’re not meant to hear.
