Blue Bendy began with post-punk instincts, then pulled them apart. Since moving from Scunthorpe to London, the band have let songs stretch and buckle, allowing indie rock, baroque touches and post-rock drift to coexist. On So Medieval, ideas feel deliberately overfilled – humour and unease sharing the same lines. Live, that restlessness sharpens, with ideas opening sideways rather than resolving neatly.
