Named after the founding year of the Manchester School of Art, 1838 Collective is an artist-led initiative dedicated to bridging the gap between art school and the professional creative industry. By providing a supportive framework of free and affordable opportunities including exhibitions, co-working sessions, and workshops; the collective empowers students and graduates to build confidence, expand their networks, and maintain a sustainable creative practice beyond university.
For the festival, 1838 Collective is curating an exclusive exhibition within their studio space, accompanied by a pop-up shop featuring original artwork, prints, and official merchandise. Located in the Islington Mill courtyard, they invite visitors to drop in, meet the makers, and support the next generation of local emerging talent.
