A few months ago, we teamed up with the brilliant Manchester Digital Music Archive to create an archive of our own: telling the stories of SFTOC history through your photos, videos and memorabilia. Now, we’ve taken it one step further.

Introducing the Sounds From The Other City Audio Map: A place for all our lovely community to preserve and share their spoken memories of Sounds over the past 20 years.

Record a delicious sound bite of your story, pin it to the place where it happened for all to hear, and help us create a living, shifting collective memory of our favourite time and place on earth. For Sounds may only appear on the streets once a year, but here we live forever, baby!

Plus you can peruse the map at your leisure and take a listen to what everyone else has been saying. About you. They’re all about you.

…So lock yourself in the stationery cupboard to record yours on your lunch break, or rally your pals down the pub and leave us a joint memory from every angle – we would love to get as many people as possible taking part and contributing stories.
