New 2025 programme additions!

You guessed it baby, we’re back with MORE NAMES added to the SFTOC 2025 programme.

That’s right! Joining the line-up are critically acclaimed Welsh-Cornish musician Gwenno, who will be performing a solo piano set in the sublime Peel Hall; new project from The Blinders’  Thomas Haywood, Whitehorse; mysterious new five piece Marsy; and University of Salford Acoustic Laboratories’ artist-in-residence Hayley Suviste.

On top of this, Salford-based artist Freya Wysocki is joining us to lead this year’s festival art direction.

Want to know more? Of course you do! I’ve always loved that curious mind of yours. Come on then, hop on…

Gwenno (piano set)

Now Wave @ Peel Hall

Welsh-Cornish musician Gwenno has three critically acclaimed solo albums under her belt, including Mercury Prize shortlisted Tresor.

Gwenno will perform songs old & new on the grand piano, in the gorgeous grade II listed Peel Hall (always a magical space… did you see Ife Ogunjobi’s electrifying set there last year?)

Whitehorse

Grey Lantern x Strange Days @ The Old Pint Pot (upstairs)

Selling out their first show before announcing the band’s existence, former The Blinders’ frontman Thomas Haywood begins his next chapter.

Whitehorse are playing the Old fan favourite, ye Old reliable, The Old Pint Pot. It’s going to be dark and stormy (like the drink).

Marsy

Fat Out x Heavenly Recordings @ Maxwell Hall

This London based five piece combine effortless songwriting with timeless melodies. Those who’ve caught them live already will have got a glimpse of what’s to come, and 2025 is set to be a big year…

Marsy join an absolutely stacked line-up in Maxwell Hall, including Du Blonde and a triple billing of Grove x Toya Delazy x TaliaBle.

Hayley Suviste

Artist in Residence @ UoS Acoustic Laboratories

As part of our partnership with the University of Salford’s Art Collection, Hayley Suviste is lurking in the Uni’s Acoustic Laboratories for a 3 month residency. The work she’s creating draws from the River Irwell: weaving together narratives of industrial heritage, ecological resilience, and cultural significance.

Anyone who was lucky enough to catch Mishka Henner’s The Conductor last year will know what an intimate experience the residency projects can be. There’ll be limited spaces at the festival to experience Hayley’s work, so keep an eye out for how to bag yours!

Freya Wysocki

Festival Art Direction

And finally, the wonderful Freya Wysocki is heading up the festival’s art direction this year. They’ve got big plans too: fancy dancing a conga line with a demon, getting lost in a world of giant confetti and floating away with a bunch of evil balloons…?

Read more about what they’ve got in the pipeline here.
