We’re back on the Quays!

Sunday 16th June 2024, 12-5pm

We’re back at We Invented the Weekend — the festival of free time — with a line-up that’ll blow your socks off, up, and into the Quays.

Featuring Sens Sagna and the Kajamor Family, who’ll be bringing infectious reggae grooves and raw African beats to the Freetime Stage that you can’t help but move to; vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ada Grace, who’ll be taking us on a journey through jazz, folk and neo-classical rhythms; Rosie Tee, who will forge an atmospheric blend of electronica, psych and avant-pop before our very eyes; and PRIDO, who’s igniting Manchester’s music scene with his electrifying storytelling through Afro anthems.

Plus, we have DJs from Greater Manchester and beyond to soundtrack your Salfordian Sunday: Katbrownsugar, Zèyla, Léna C, Sophie Bee and Nancy Leawok.

Speaking of DJs, our very own DJ Riv will be navigating the local waters with the notorious Grotbags (banned from Sounds; doomed to an eternity roaming the seas) in, you guessed it, a party boat. Let’s start there, shall we?…

Boat Party

Cruising with Grotbags & DJ Riv

Lift anchor, splice the main brace and scrub the poop deck!

After years adrift in the Bermuda Triangle, where they battled big horrible squid monsters and serenaded mermaids, Grotbags are returning to port with a treasure a’plenty promising to shiver yer timbers and plunder yer hearts.

Born from the heart of a storm and forged in the belly of a whale, Grotbags are set to sail in the good ship SFTOC with shanties that echo from the crow’s nest to Davy Jones’ locker.
